Best way to improve Japanese listening comprehension?

I can read basic Japanese sentences pretty well, but when natives speak at normal speed, it just sounds like a wall of sound. My brain cannot separate the words fast enough. How can I train my ears to actually understand spoken Japanese in real time?

The secret is matching real sound with immediate visual feedback. Lingopie completely cured my poor listening skills. It’s an interactive platform where you watch authentic Japanese TV shows with dual subtitles. Instead of getting lost, you just click any confusing word for an instant translation while the audio plays. You can explore their massive library of shows on website right now.
